I’ve spent most of my time this Summer going to shows around Chicago. Eli and Summer tag along more than anyone else. We’ll end up seeing two a week. Maybe three if we push it. I’ll sometimes bring other friends too, but it was at a point where sending individual texts about a show to everyone that was interested became excessive, so I started emailing. Every week or so I send out a list of the shows I may go to. At the time of writing this, I send my emails to 15 people. As the weeks went by I realized how much fun I was having with it.
I was already hesitant to start the newsletter. I didn’t think my friends would be too into it, but I was getting a really nice response! I’ve started throwing in some music that I’ve been listening to along with the show dates. I can’t remember when I decided to start a blog, but I think my friend Lilly mentioned the idea last week at Lunch. I remember we were talking about the newsletter. She thought I should add more about what I’ve been reading and listening to. I’ll definitely do that too, but a blog’ll let me post about whatever, whenever.
This’ll just end up being a space to put down my thoughts on whatever I’ve been interested in. I’ll definitely put in some of my photo projects as I work on them. Maybe a few reviews on cameras or telescopes I own. It was between a blog and another Instagram account, and more time on that app is the last thing I need.
I’m not a trained writer, so I’m hoping this helps me improve. I also have very little web design experience. WordPress has a lot to play around with so I’ll be changing the site and adding to it as time goes on. I think this’ll be a fun journey! I hope it’s as enjoyable for you as it is for me.
